Fire & Water DO mix

People think we hate water but NO! It's how we relax here in Flambeaux Fire and we have been doing more relaxing with water-fire shows both here and in Miami, and Atlantic City over the last 2 years, gracing pools and ponds in gardens, rooftops, casinos and luxury hotels as we construct new ideas for live spectacle entertainment using fire.

SEE THE MOVIE OF A FIRE & WATER SHOW HERE!

Our pair of Fire Swans, towed by water-nymphs just drop jaws and as you can see in pictures further down, even guests love to swim with them.

And we have found, through our experiments with Ali in 'mermaid-ology', that these beautiful and strange creatures are as popular interacting outside of the pool as they are popular to swim with inside, and (…whodathunkit?) they too can play with fire!

So you see, we don't hate water at all. Hire us to come to your pool and you'll see you can hardly scoop us out……..

Stay tuned for more Water-Fire creations, performers and shows….

South of the Border with Serge Becker

The Blue Angel Cabaret on Walker Street didn't just jumpstart the modern burlesque revival back in 94 when Drew Barrymore used to strip and make a scandal of herself and all concerned. It also produced professional operations from many of it's performers and definitely of much of it's clientele. Serge Becker used to revel in it's excesses where Flambeaux headlined with his partner Lilah. This was also where his fire headdresses appeared to mimic the tribal culture of the underground 90s.
Becker whisked Flambeaux off to Bowery Bar and Grill, Joe's Pub and the Box. Now, 2 decades later, Becker has opened 'Bodega Negra' - a boutique Mexican Restaurant geared more towards raucous fun than to authenticity, at 16th Street's fashionable 'Dream Hotel' (launched with FF shows in 2009)
Think 'Dawn-to-Dusk' Mexico. Hot vampire girls and Herradura Tequila and all.
Says Becker to Flambeaux....."Set the place on fire Flammie.....safely!"

'Flammie' went straight for the new FF-girl team and snatched up Paula Kaiser (ex-P Cult), back from Brazil, with Natalie Hope to form the fun team for the A-list excess crowd of celebs that cram into Bodega Negra on Monday nights. And he looked at what he had made and found it good, for it was, but it needed something.
"We'd started rocking out fire gigs with Stefan Zeniuk and his flaming saxophone at the Gowanus Ballroom. THAT was what we needed!"
Set the place on fire? Uh....naaaah! Make it LOOK like they set the place on fire? Uh......yaaaah!

"Church of Girl' Human Candelabra Collection

The Times Square gala for Chashama arts organization was the setting for a developing vision; the 'Church of Girl', featuring wax-covered models
Cassandra Rosebeetle, Ali Luminescent, Christine Geiger, Christine Pawlovski and Kim Kahuna.
Weeks of drip-dripping of melting candles preceded it with Zen-like patience but the result was a shrine to beauty where the audience could worship and light candles upon their favorite goddesses.
It was an extension of last years' interactive candelabra with Sarah Sparkles where the audience dripped the candles directly onto her, forming the wax encasement.
All these things are now a line of live candles/wax installations and experiences made by Flambeaux for events and gatherings, so give us a call if you'd like them. And much thanks to Chashama arts organization who have supported us through the years and whom we enjoy contributing our works to annually for their Times Square gala.....

Flambeaux Fire with Empire of the Sun for MTV IGGY's Music Experiment 2.0

"It's a Pagan-Burning Man-Mad Max-Aesthetic," read the email from the producers.

"DUH," we thought. That's kinda what we do! The event featured the totally hot right now Australian pop-duo Empire of the Sun, a band known for its theatrics, dancing, amazing costumes and HEADDRESSES.
We were a perfect fit for the show, which was a free "secret" concert taking place at Gotham Hall on June 20th, the first in the 2.0 collection of the Music Experiment series.
Flambeaux Fire performed a six person fire show to the sounds of African drummers and tribal-themed projections integrated with the megalithic architecture of Gotham Hall.
The audience was right there with us, almost close enough to touch and there was almost a call-and-response atmosphere with the whole room responding to our movements with screams and cheers. There was a sea of cell phones taking pics and recording, so from stage it looked like the whole room was lit up like bioluminescent creatures (wish we had a pic from our view on stage of y'all!)

Some of our costumed performers roamed the room, partying with everyone and rocking out with LED hula hoop and angle-grinders. It was such a fun, amazing night and we were totally stoked to be a part of MTV Iggy's concert series. Big thanks to Nusrat and Roye at MTV for having us as well as Giant Step Productions and Atomic Entertainment! You guys totally rocked us out!
